Good versus Bad?

Recently I was perusing through an astrology forum thread when I came across a generalization that caught my attention. It was titled ‘Mars in Pisces…” It piqued my interest and I thought to myself “hey, I have Mars in Pisces! Let me take a look at what this is about!”

I’m always looking to learn new things. With astrology, I feel as though the learning never ends. There’s always a new way to look at something, a different style of interpretation, etc.  It’s like a kaleidoscope! And there are always new things to discover and learn about as well such as aspects, asteroids, and house systems.

So I opened this thread and saw that the author of this thread had put down a generalization of Mars in Pisces that’s only one side of the coin. The shadow side. The author stated that Mars placed in this sign had to do with addictions. Now, just to retain some anonymity for the posts, I’m not going to go into the exact details and the title of the post was altered a bit as well.

Yes, Mars in Pisces can illuminate a personality that looks for escapism in the form of addictions. I’m not going to disagree with that, but I am going to state that it is only one side of the coin. The shadow side, the more negative, destructive side. There’s a good side too though! It doesn’t always mean the person is an addict or deceptive. They could just be a sensitive person with a drive for the metaphysical and esoteric. Someone who operates well with their intuition or can tap into a mystical realm more easily. I also think that house placements and aspects should be taken into account as well. Another thing I would like to point out is that whatever it is being observered may not even represent the person themselves but outside influenced energies. For instance, Mars in Pisces can be shown as someone who attracts/ attracted to males who are sensitive and imaginative… Or men who are addicts of some sort.

Every planet and every sign has a good side and a bad side, a side that functions at a lower quality. It all depends on how we use these energies, how we evolve them and allow them to evolve us, to grow into better self awareness. To use them in a more truthful, higher quality way.

There’s no such thing as good or bad, although they both exist. There is a such thing as how you use things which determines how they may defined as such though.

Astro Weather – August 10th 2015

Tomorrow morning the Moon sits at the very last degree of Gemini whilst sextiling retrograde Venus and Jupiter (who sits at the last degree of Leo). A little light hearted-ness, some emotional variety, or at least a more objective outlook on the mood can create a lot of pleasure! By noon the Moon moves to Cancer and begins to sextile Mercury in Virgo while still holding that sextile with Jupiter as well. Be optimistic and nurture with your words. Speak clearly and from the heart. By evening the watery Moon moves into a trine with Neptune, creating a little bliss.

Since Saturn Turned Direct

Since Saturn turned direct in the last few degrees of Scorpio it’s been moving back into a square with my natal Piscean Mars. The word tired is certainly not enough to describe the feeling of exhaustion that’s been  growing steadily. Not only have I been  increasingly tired but my body has been  physically exhausted as well. Regardless of the quality and amount of time of sleep and rest I get it just hurts. Another affect I feel from Saturn moving into square with my Mars is time. It feels as though there is not enough time in a day to get everything on my list accomplished, which also includes being able to work on the website as well unfortunately. That doesn’t mean I’m giving up, but it does mean I have to cut back a little to attempt to reserve some energy and not burn out. I am sorry that I have not been keeping the blog up to date, it won’t always be this way, but as for now I have to take things slow and steady for my own personal well being. The last time Saturn squared my Mars before it turned retrograde I went through similar experiences with feeling tired and having body aches as well. I expect my work load at my normal job to increase as well being that that happened the last time as well.

Fear of Death…

Saturn has had a long trek through Scorpio so far. We had a slight taste of what Saturn in Sagittarius would be like only for Saturn to head back to Scorpio and make sure we had our T’s crossed and I’s dotted. Reviewing how Saturn in Scorpio has affected us, I can’t say it’s been exactly the same for all, but I can say it’s certainly revolved around Scorpionic themes such as death, money from others, cutting ties to achieve emotional independence, solidifying resources, etc. I know that with Saturn in Scorpio for myself, I’ve definitely learned to be an “emotional adult” and to rely on my own emotional resources. I can’t expect to always have a shoulder to cry on or someone who’ll give solid advice, I’ve learned that I need to rely on myself. Compared to some people, Saturn’s transit through Scorpio was a bit of a breeze for me. I also don’t think I really had much harshly aspected from it, unlike how Saturn throughout Sagittarius will be for me. I do know one young man who has been dealing with the fear (Saturn) of death (Scorpio) and still seems to be going through it. Hopefully Saturn in Sagittarius will solidify (Saturn) either a bit of faith in life or at least a brighter outlook for him (Sagittarius).

How has Saturn through Scorpio treated you over the past few years? How did it affect you? What lessons did you learn? Do you think you’ve grown from them or do you still struggle with them? Are you ready for Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius? What do you think it will bring for you?

Before Saturn Turned Direct…

Before Saturn turned direct, all of the planets that were retrograde happened to be the same planets that are retrograde within my own natal chart. It was merely just a coincidence but for me it held a sort of significance. It was almost as if it were a mirrored reflection of my own planetary energies. It was almost Iike being completely in tune with one’s own self. See, when a person has a planet that’s retrograde in their birth chart, when a transiting planet turns retrograde it makes that energy of the planet easier to deal with since it’s already inherently working as such in the natal chart. It’s familiarity, it’s comforting. The planets may not have been in the same signs as the natal ones in my chart, but at least I got to feel how the transiting planets in that state of motion had such an internalizingly mirrored effect.

Do you have multiple planets retrograde in your chart? How does it feel? Have you had all of the same retrograde planets shown in your chart mirrored by the same transiting planets retrograding at the same time?

Astro Weather – August 3rd 2015

Tomorrow morning and into afternoon tea time the Pisces Moon takes part in a Grand Water Trine involving Saturn in Scorpio and Mars in Cancer. You know that Disney movie Frozen? The song Let It Go? This is more along the lines of Let It Flow! Let it flooow! Let it flow and feel it. By evening the Moon moves from Pisces to Aries. We go from the imaginative to the initiative. Take charge because it’s a time for those dreams to finally have action! Even though the Moon is in a different sign and element it still holds its aspects with Mars and Saturn, adding a little fire to that watery trine and a little fire under the feet and in the belly. Just make sure you’re looking before you leap, so as not to leap into a ring of fire instead of a nice, cool lake. Venus, now back in Leo, is practically conjunct Jupiter at this point. You thought the party was over? Well, surprise! There’s an after party too! But with Saturn squaring the lot it’s kind of like “hey, don’t you have work in the morning? Should you really be out any later?” Or it could be one of those you gotta know someone to get in type deals. Saturn is in Scorpio (now direct as well, mind you) and Scorpio likes to keep things mysterious. Sshh, what’s the password?

Astro Weather – July 31st 2015

Tomorrow morning we have a Full Moon in Aquarius shaking things up a bit. It’s a time where the unexpected and how you as a unique individual fit into the collective whole. Dare to be different! Be proud of your mismatched socks! As the day moves on the Moon moves into an opposition with Mercury, find the balance between how you feel and what you think. As the evening flows in the Moon begins forming a sextile with Uranus, adding more of that eccentricity and electricity. Be a little impulsive, spur of the moment ideas sometimes create the best memories. On the same day that we have this Full Moon taking place Venus finally moves back to Leo, coming closer to making a conjunction with Leo again and a square with Saturn. There’s a theme of the past present, having to do with relationships and finances and even the consequences thereof. Money may be a little tight or your significant other may seem a little distant. If you made some big plans for fun they might have to be delayed or put on hold for a bit. Mercury and Uranus are so close to forming a trine you can almost taste it! Like a hot sizzling pepper on the tip of your tongue. Get those ideas out there, surprise a friend you haven’t talked to in a while by giving them a call, find a new way of thinking or add a new twist to the way you have conversations with others. Mars is still moving into that trine with Saturn. Make it work! Get it done! With the Jupiter/ Saturn square the process may take a little longer and cause some frustrations.

Astro Weather – July 30th 2015

Tomorrow morning the Capricorn Moon squares Uranus and opposes Mars. The mood may be a little rocky. Unexpected outbursts can take you by surprise. The first impulse may be to defend yourself when you feel your emotional ego gets bruised and you may not even realize you’re caught up in a hostile situation until you’re… Well… Caught up in a hostile situation. It may be best to try to detach and just focus on work that needs to get done. Capricorn buries negative emotions with work and taking care of responsibilities. Just detach and stay cool and stoic. By noon the Moon drops the square with Uranus and begins moving toward a sextile with Saturn. Gaining stability and being the adult becomes easier. It’s all about creating a strong emotional foundation within yourself that gives you the ability to interact with the little land mines that come up. By the afternoon/ early evening the Moon changes signs from Capricorn to Aquarius. A little detachment goes a long way. Find a way to make the road better for everyone not just yourself. What’s good for one is good for all and vice versa sometimes. Jupiter and Saturn are squaring one another and almost exact. Oh the suspense! Jupiter wants to expand and Saturn wants us to take our time, create our foundations, make sure our responsibilities are taken care of. The best way I’ve heard of a tense aspect between Jupiter and Saturn referred to was “driving with the breaks on”. Jupiter wants growth but dear Saturn is saying “hold up! Hit the breaks! Take your time!”. It can be rather frustrating because it could seems as though we’re going nowhere and fast, hitting brick walls with each direction we take. Just remember to take your time. You need a solid foundation before the next chapter anyways.

July 31st – Full Moon in Aquarius; Freedom and Unity

During the morning of July 31st, at around 6:45 AM, we’ll be experiencing what some call a Blue Moon. I’ve seen some debate over what a Blue Moon actually is. Some say it’s when we have two Full/ New Moons within the same month and some say it only counts if it’s within the same sign. Whatever the case may be, having two Full Moons within the same month is still considerably a rare happenstance.

Typically during a Full Moon something comes to light or reaches a culmination. With this Full Moon the axis is on Aquarius and Leo. Leo is the individual, whereas Aquarius is the collective, focusing on the group as a whole instead of the individual. What makes the opposition between these signs interesting is that you can’t have a collective group without having the individuals. It’s the odd little quirks that make us who we are and also what brings us together.

This Full Moon has no other aspects aside from its opposition with the Sun, making the energy more potent and pure. Uranus in Aries has recently went retrograde and, as the ruler of Aquarius, brings this Full Moon energy into a more internal perspective. Sure there are still going to be some surprises and twists and turns during this Full Moon, but it seems as though we, ourselves, will be making the changes we need in order to liberate ourselves and allow our truly unique personality traits to shine. Be the rebel, be the leader.

Astro Weather – July 29th 2015

Tomorrow morning and into the afternoon the Capricorn moon creeps up to forming a conjunction with Pluto while sextiling Neptune. Emotion intensities that surface seem to be softened by the ethereal. By evening, the Moon still within a conjunction forms a square with now retrograde Uranus. The feelings that come up are surprising, and may be even shocking. Something far beneath the emotion surface demands change and liberation. Even though Venus and Saturn are both retrograde they are slowly forming a square with one another since Venus moves much more quickly than Saturn. The time is nearing to go back and recheck yourself in terms of values, finances and relationships. Since both of these planets are retrograde it is more of an internal energy than external. Mercury is on its way to forming a trine with Uranus, giving way to alternative free thinking and lively conversations. Mars and Uranus are squaring off yet again, creating some surprises when it comes to aggression or getting what you want. There is a helpful trine from Saturn that Mars receives though which can aid in being the adult in an erratic situation and making sure you get what you are striving for regardless of any bumps or twists that come up along the way.
